Would you buy from an insolvent kitchen manufacturer?

I just spoke with my sister (furniture salesperson) yesterday. She says that in the last month alone, 9 suppliers have filed for bankruptcy or shut down. I would not assume that the reasons for Alno are any different from those of the others. German quality is nice, but customers no longer pay for it. Furniture now comes cheaper from Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, China, etc. The gap is also widening significantly here. The middle and usual German quality is disappearing. There is only simple and luxurious left. It is bitter to see longtime traditional companies having to close their doors forever. But people's preferences do change over time. Especially young people often have no interest in high-quality furniture at all. They prefer to travel and fill their homes with the entire Ikea range or something similar. It is also the case that the visual differences are hardly noticeable to laypeople anymore. Whether solid wood or real wood veneer - you can see

At 32, I would also consider myself a "quite young person" when it comes to building a house. And even among my friends, I see that the statement (at least in my environment) is not correct. Almost all of them have invested money in their house, the kitchen, and the furniture. I have not seen IKEA kitchens or IGNIS appliances in any of their homes so far. Brands like Leicht and Alno are widely talked about there. But of course, that does not have to be representative; the kitchen planner section at IKEA is often packed.

Yes, the impression is often misleading when you only compare within your own environment. Usually, friends and relatives come from the same environment. However, what matters is where the majority buys or rather what they buy. By now, almost all furniture retailers have to offer the tables from Romania as well. There is no other way anymore. The price differences are enormous, the quality differences only marginal or, as is often the case, not visible.

And how do you know that the kitchen planner area at IKEA is always packed? Because you yourself are often there, instead of at the expensive competitor.

Well, IKEA kitchens are not bad per se. It's just a matter of taste. I generally don't like the stuff from IKEA at all.
