Buy a mid-range Audi. New car 60k. The seller was always reachable before signing the contract. As soon as the ink was dry, he moved on. I can somehow understand that. Sellers don't want an email friendship.

You are then buying a highly standardized product from mass production with excellent quality control. No risk – unless you have a boutique car built. A house is a unique item. Quality control works quite differently; it is good to work closely and well with the partners. Today I still bought a car from a private seller for my older son (he has a driver’s license). The seller was just as important to me as the condition of the vehicle. I don’t buy from people I have doubts about. There was coffee too.

Reminds me of the following story about construction:

I needed a plasterer.....

- Person A came (he is supposed to plaster well), he avoided all eye contact, was taciturn, which is okay, but he seemed unsympathetic to me. He told me his price and disappeared.

- Person B came (is also supposed to plaster well), he answered all my questions and seemed sympathetic to me. He told me his price, but I decided on him immediately.

Of course, this is no guarantee, but you just have a better feeling.

Hm, at work I also have a leadership role which I believe I fill quite well. However, things run a bit differently there. We talk to each other! But the civil engineer and foundation worker has no intention of doing that at all. He disappears, is unreachable, and when my architect, whom I wouldn't call a layman in construction, finally gets him on the line and asks why he hasn't started even though the weather is good, he again replies that the weather is not good. Which is simply a fact, no matter what the current weather is, even if it were 25 degrees and sunny, he wouldn't start because he has taken on too many jobs. And that he will definitely not finish on time, I will certainly see on Monday in KW11 when he hasn't even dug a hole. Anyway, I'll just wait now and when it comes to the final invoice, I am just as creatively grateful as he is with the weather.

Fact or assumption - whatever the case may be... don't let it get to you - I'm out then.

Well, what do you expect from your civil engineer? Profound communication? Why didn’t you communicate with him beforehand and get an idea if it was a good fit?
