Good day dear forum community,

I am a quiet reader and get a lot of ideas from this forum. I don’t know if this topic is in the right place here. If not, please move it.

We are building a stepped floor and are currently pondering the window sizes in the children's rooms.

Does anyone maybe have similar children's rooms? And can say if it is too much window frontage? After all, the children's rooms are not huge. The north arrow points to the bottom left!

Thank you very much! :)

Axo...currently the windows are at 1.51m...we would like to make them 1.76m....but since we still have two small windows on the side, we are not sure and are afraid that it might be too much...

We have for 16-18 m2 rooms each 1x1.76... is enough.

For 12 m2 it would then be 1.50, which would be comparable. Everything else can / not a must.

Consider the furnishings.

I am currently sitting in 14sqm and there is a window measuring 160cm. In my opinion, more would be too much. As already noted, the furnishing is limited because of this..... also for later remodeling wishes. I would consider two "normal" windows as sufficient (single-leaf) or one large one, for example 150-160. I understand the intention behind it but from today's perspective, looking back, it would be too big for me. Two windows are already a lot, but they should not be too large.

Thank you very much for your answers :) It is really difficult...

So we currently have double-winged windows with muntins...

Under the children's room, we have the guest room with two 88cm windows... visually it sounds better to take 1.76m, but the argument about floor space is of course always there... and rightly so :)

The question then arises... double-winged or one large one... the post in the middle takes up glass area with the double-winged one... :)

I wouldn’t make the window too wide, otherwise it won’t open. Would it be okay if the children's room only gets [EIN einflügeliges Fenster]? Maybe mark it on the plan, the exterior view shouldn’t be constricted either, it has to fit from the inside.
