So the roofer should really stick to his roofs. The fact that a floor-to-ceiling window is being pushed in by the passing masses of water, well, that was a good one!

Where are they supposed to come from? Or did you build in a hole where the lowest point is in front of the terrace?

Now the question is, who actually did the landscaping in the terrace picture? It looks to me, though it could be deceptive, that there is a slope towards the terrace. Can't you build an elevated slope away from the terrace? Then the water will drain too. As it is built there, there will sooner or later be problems. It also seems to be the windward side. The wide roof overhang is a positive.

There actually are indeed a few good hints from dear Peter P.. However, to doubt the roofer’s expertise here shows great self-confidence combined with deep ignorance. An unfortunate combination that a forum member should actually heed according to your hints. Ever heard the word "heavy rainfall events"? I was personally in Münster when there was a prolonged rain a few years ago that caused hundreds of millions in damage. The water flowed through houses that had been built far away from the water and in some cases even on small elevations. I stood in a server room where about 30 cm of water stood (5 cm below the IT components in the cabinet). People paddled on air mattresses through Münster’s city center. OK. It is rare. But if water flows through a modern wood frame/timber frame house like that, you can completely renovate the ground floor (and basement if available).

But even the gutter in front of the floor-to-ceiling window or the slope of the terrace away from the window wouldn't help you anymore. The water presses through every window that goes even roughly to the floor.

I also remember a case from (I believe) 14 years ago when a thunderstorm here dumped so much rain that water was pushed inside the balcony doors one after another.

Quite the opposite, I was glad that the roofer confirmed it to me !!!! This roofer not only works on roofs, but also carries out waterproofing around the house :-).

And basically, many roofers of course also work on roof terraces from time to time – where, among other things, the sealing of floor-to-ceiling windows is even more exciting.
