We are planning to have new windows installed at my parents' house. Now the question naturally arises: Are roller shutters suitable or would exterior blinds be better?

The box and the guide rail are located in the reveal or on the masonry in front of the window. The advantage is that thermal bridges are avoided here. The retrofit is done here without problems.

We have had three years of [Vorbau Rollläden] now and I don't want to miss them anymore. We also faced the question: roller shutters or blinds. The roller shutters have better thermal insulation than the blinds. So the decision was clear, we had roller shutters installed.

We have blinds in the office and I have to say I like them. I especially like the adjustment of the slats. They keep the heat out, especially in summer. But they are not an effective protection against uninvited guests.
