I have now put budget planning at the very top of the list and understood that we must not overextend ourselves here :-) As you already say, we should clarify this before Planning 2.0.

Currently, I am still trying to figure out how to make ideal use of the property, and right now I am more thinking about the best orientation and location, so detached from the budget. So rather from the perspective of:

- can be done that way
- I don’t like it / I like it
- is not allowed
- I’m thinking about the following...
- ...

The budget is more than optimistic, even with own contributions. Garage only material sounds good. Everything left over from the budget in the end you have to cover from the ongoing income. The 3000 for the stones is already a big obstacle. Filling is not done by just spreading the earth. You have to support it, you have to secure it. How much use is behind the money? Plan smaller. Move away from if maybe, would be nice. Build as little as really necessary for 4-6 people. If there is money left over, you can always add this or that. Do not build close to the edge. Especially with your family plans, you need space. What bothers me about A the long courtyard the unbuilt fields behind the property the wall to the uncle the garage relatively far from the house. Presumably a car will always stand in front of the workshop What bothers me about B the long courtyard the unbuilt fields behind the property the wall to the uncle the garage is more sensible there I don't like C at all With A-C I see problems with the building line.

Could you quickly sketch that for me in a drawing? How far forward would you plan the house? That means leaving out the workshop for now and maybe building it later if there is money left... Could also be 2-3 years after. Basement yes, but not necessarily as a living basement is understood. Preferably expand the roof later and add an extra room here. What do you mean by unobstructed fields at the back?

By the wall to the uncle, you mean the wooden layer, right? How could the view of the "beautiful" neighbor’s garden be made more pleasant alternatively?

If there is one thing you should basically avoid, it is that. A great plan is useless if the budget doesn't cooperate, so: First set the budget, then make a - realistic - plan. Otherwise, someone will end up crying later.

Okay good convinced :-) Then we will first plan the budget and get back to you later. Thank you already for all your input, that has helped us a lot (even if different than expected, budget was not my first point). What I can say is that we will be somewhere between 450k and 600k. If there are still any remarks on the first plans, I would still be happy.

But without a budget, everything is nothing, and within the stated range it is probably advisable to think economically in terms of cable lengths and driveway areas. Maybe you could also show the house design on which the sizing of the placeholders for the house footprint and terrace location is based.
