Yes, the Proxon air heating is not coming into my house. There is no water protection area or anything like that here. It’s just a question of whether the drill will go through the stone, but the Isowood seller said they have already had drilling done several times in our area...
We also went to Stommel Haus and received the building service description and were able to compare. I didn’t read anything about air exchange at Isowood; at Stommel Haus, it says something about window rebate ventilation... They also only manage KFW55 with their wall construction, and what was promised as jute in the building service description then becomes “sustainable and really great ecological” glass wool from Knauf with ecose binder.
Somehow we felt not taken completely seriously. Unlike with Isowood, we did not receive detailed information about the wall and roof construction and had to pull everything out of the salesperson. Also, the demeanor was “slightly arrogant,” and they made it clear to us that the usual clientele has more money. In addition, their order books are full, and they only want to deal with our concern further if we are “pretty sure we want to build with Stommel Haus.” Definitely a different league in terms of price, but I also wonder where you would actually end up with both in the end. Example of parquet: Isowood calculates €20 (or maybe €25, I would have to look it up) per sqm, and Stommel Haus €61!
Still, I find Isowood’s transparency appealing, and if you calculate a bit more generously here, you still remain well below the prices that Stommel Haus demands. What I really like about Stommel Haus is the installation level. Allegedly, you can simply unscrew the baseboards and then pull new cables. With all other wooden prefab houses, you have to plan very carefully, and then all recesses for pipes, cables, and lines are prepared in the factory. Changes afterward are apparently not so easy... but how often do you need that with good planning?
Next, we wanted to take a look at Nordhaus; they also have a very long experience and seem to be attractive in price. And they also use that ecose stuff from Knauf. Let’s see what they say about controlled residential ventilation and heating.
