I would be interested in that too! What was the compromise then?

Starting with the wall construction which already led to failures, through the heating concept which most still agreed with. The main sticking point was on the one hand a slanted gallery (structural problems which could not or would not be solved by the prefab house manufacturers) and a partial wooden facade which was supposed to/must be flush with the plaster.

Prefabricated house providers have - and this makes sense - a limited portfolio - here are a few points that led us not to build with a prefabricated house provider: limited heating concepts such as masonry heater as main heating limited selection of interior wall surfaces e.g. clay plaster with straw content limited switch programs e.g. no Gi Gambarelli limited wood selection e.g. no hewn wood as exposed beam layer limited implementation of foundations and floor slabs e.g. on 27-degree slope limited tile selection e.g. no Sicis glass mosaic limited window selection e.g. no Solarlux no photovoltaic solar tiles no wooden acoustic ceiling ...

The small GUs without a sample center are better off, or else directly with an architect. The small ones call Maier and ask if he has ever heard of photovoltaic solar tiles and can install them. Then they ask Hubert if he can get the tiles from the wholesaler, etc. Although I don’t trust every architect to implement Hampshire’s wishes. Some big ones dismissed our hillside location from the start. They don’t have anything as shallow as 27°. For us, behind the house, it’s between 40° and 44°.

Do you have them on the roof now? I basically also find it unnecessary to cover a roof with roof tiles and then also with solar modules and would prefer a simple and durable solution with solar modules. As far as I have read, there is no German manufacturer anymore who bothers with solar tiles. The multitude of connection points and contacts are potential sources of malfunction and have not proven themselves. Too much effort, too expensive, too many complaints... if you want something nice, you can go for in-roof modules, otherwise currently only the standard solar module as an on-roof module remains. Or are there other concepts by now? I would like to see that when it's finished! How do you come up with such an idea?

None of what Hampshire has listed is within the architect's skills.
He only has to procure the trades that can deliver these special requests. Or the materials are procured separately and a craftsman is found who installs them if he cannot procure them himself.

The architect gets work with special wall constructions combined with things like flush wood/plaster facades, combined with structural challenges. Just as borderpuschl wishes.
