No, 2 buildings don't work well either because you have to create transitions between the buildings. You can get a rough approximation. It really depends on the template and the requirements for the implementation.

You can manage it for representation purposes - it's not enough for calculations.

I still don't understand what problem or solution is supposed to be represented with this that couldn't be done with a pen and paper.

With the Legos, I would probably have a problem with the curve the house makes on the one hand, and I would need many bricks for about 150 sqm of floor space per floor. I can’t manage the drawing on paper. I have to admit: I’m a little bit of a perfectionist. If the lines are different thicknesses, the edges uneven, or something has to be erased, I could just crumple up the whole paper right away. On the PC, however, no problem – I only touched on CAD during my training (I come from software development). Well, the architect... our architect friend will draw a room if needed, but not more; he himself says that it would be a Sisyphean task... Doesn’t inspire much confidence :( If necessary, I really have to break the house into parts. I’ll take a look at the programs mentioned here, maybe I’ll make progress :) Many thanks for your help!

What is the goal?

So, with VA you will probably reach the goal most easily if you design all the rooms on a floor at the maximum height and create different heights by drawing in platforms. It could then look like this:

Where the platform drawn in room 2 should simply be created in the representation as white without hatching.

The goal in the medium term is to be able to determine the position of the new staircase. Also, the planning of a "free" room, which is to be divided into a dressing room and bathroom, would be important. Regarding the bathroom, it is also about precisely determining the position of the bathtub and the supply and drainage lines. Generally speaking, we need a plan that at a glance provides information about what exactly is below/above a specific room.
