Otherwise, not much has been done yet. Roof insulation will follow soon, and new windows are also planned. But the last 2 winters ran with a heat pump in a basically unchanged old building.
It works, the rooms were warm too, but that living style wouldn't be for me. You primarily heat the rooms you spend time in, but for example, hallways are usually cold, you always have to be careful to keep doors closed because otherwise, cold air from the hallway drafts into the living room, etc. Of course, it’s no comparison to a modern building where you install underfloor heating with low flow temperatures and basically have the same temperature throughout the house. I always found that very pleasant. The heating is slow to react, but you don’t have to deal with it at all. In old houses, you’re constantly fiddling with the radiators.
