We are getting a laundry chute in the bathroom. This way, the dirty laundry ends up directly in the utility room below.

We have a laundry chute, so the laundry goes directly into a basket on the washing machine. If carrying it upstairs ever becomes annoying, we can also place the washing machine and dryer in a storage room on the upper floor.

Currently, we collect the dirty laundry in the bathroom of the rental apartment in a "metal bin". It has actually proven effective. The laundry is either dried on a rack on the balcony or, in bad weather, on a rack inside or bedding, towels, etc. are put in the dryer.
In the future, we will probably collect it in the utility room. I can imagine that the bin will move with us. We'll see if my wife has different ideas.
Due to the hillside location, we are building "in reverse" (bedrooms, bathroom, and utility room downstairs - living rooms upstairs with access to the terrace).
We will install two rotary clotheslines or holders. One in the garden and one under the carport (almost 12 m long). The rotary clothesline(s) will be used as needed and depending on the weather.
Otherwise, we still need to buy a new dryer. The current one is a vented dryer and will not come with us - where to put the exhaust air? So we need a condenser dryer.
Because of the ventilation system, we also have the option to dry clothes inside on the rack. The ventilation system transports the moist air away.

In my parents' house, there was a laundry chute. That was brilliant! We children (in the attic) threw the dirty laundry in, and it landed in the basement laundry room directly in a very old wicker basket. Today I have children myself, and we live in an apartment. I miss the laundry chute every day . In the children's rooms, there are laundry baskets, but I guess only I use them. But I think it's simply more fun to throw the laundry down a chute than into a basket. The sound was also funny "Wuuuutsch".
