Good evening everyone,
my wife and I bought a house in Lower Saxony this year, built in 1983, where the previous owners wanted to install a swimming pool. This was already taken into account during the shell construction; there is a 5x6x1.5m reinforced concrete pool. Otherwise, the room in the basement is still in shell condition. Currently, there is an oil heating system installed (built in 2016, 6000L tank). Some groundwater is currently entering the pool because a lighting opening to the soil is open and needs to be closed. See pictures attached.
Marked in red on the floor plan is the room for the swimming pool, where space was also planned for a sauna, etc. The heating room is at the bottom right. We currently have two children (3 and 2 years old) and a third is coming in February. The swimming pool would be used very frequently. It should be mentioned that I don’t like cold water. I would like to have a warm whirlpool area or something like that in the pool where I can watch the children splash around in the cold (27°) water
We are now considering what to do with the room. Hobby room, floor-to-ceiling lounge or something similar. Of course, we are thinking about whether we should develop the room into a wellness area. Can you give a rough idea of what something like that costs, including operating costs? 25,000 EUR? 50,000 EUR? I really have no idea. I think heating a pool with 45,000L of water with oil would probably be foolish, right?
