First, I tore down all the paneling. The slats, with which the ceiling was suspended (14cm x 1.5 x 3.8m), always form the cross beams in the pool room in groups of three, on which the construction stands (see the first picture on the last page). So I was able to recycle well here. Then I ripped up the carpet, suspended the ceiling, repainted, and laid the floor. It was not as much effort as I initially thought. The pool room took much more time.
Finished:
I didn’t track the total costs of both projects exactly, but my Toom hardware store card says around 6,000 EUR for this year. That fits well for the material. But the much bigger investment was made by my wife, as she took care of our three little kids in the basement during my working hours. Now they run through the basement every afternoon, and it’s quiet upstairs :-)
