What does the electrician do during the shell construction phase?

Hello everyone,

which tasks are absolutely necessary for the electrician during the shell construction phase?
I think the house connection is the top priority, that is clear to me.

My concern is that I am just starting with the electrical planning, but the shell construction will begin in the next few weeks (I won’t be finished that quickly).
I want to do the chasing myself, that way you are flexible and can do everything once the shell is built... but WHAT should definitely be done by a professional while the builder is erecting the shell?

Best regards

The house connection is established when the house is sealed and the scaffolding is removed. Or do you mean construction power?

With us, the electrician came for the first time after the shell construction was completed to carry out the rough installation. Chasing, drilling, wiring.

In the shell construction phase, the slots are made, boxes are installed, and cables are pulled so that everything later disappears in the plaster or screed. You will have to discuss the procedure with your electrician. Slots, breakthroughs, and riser routes depend on your requirements. You definitely need a plan for what goes where. Routes from the HAR to the rooms, don't forget the outside.

OK great thanks for the answer. I can make slots once the shell construction is done. But the routes will presumably be set by the shell builder, at best, already directly during the shell construction phase?

In the concrete ceilings, the shell builder should provide appropriate openings, which will then be used for cable penetrations, etc. If you plan to install spotlights anywhere, have the suitable boxes installed there directly as well.

As long as the plaster/screed is not in, everything is basically irrelevant. You can do everything later, but the effort is somewhat greater.

For example, in my opinion, it would make sense to set ceiling outlets and pull cables in the case of a filigree ceiling so that you don’t have to go through 20+ cm of reinforced concrete later.
For spotlights, speak directly with the ceiling builder and have the boxes installed at the factory.
Before the windows arrive, already place empty conduits at the window so that the connection cable for the roller shutter can be routed.

The rest can be approached calmly.

As long as it’s not an industrial complex, you don’t really need "route planning." It would be good to talk to the sanitary installer about where he needs to run his pipes and also with the people responsible for ventilation in the screed. The channels are already relatively large, and in the end, almost everything usually goes into one room. It can get quite tight there.
