What do you think of carpets? Completely out of style?

I have to be honest, as an allergy sufferer I have had significantly better experiences with carpet. Because if you don’t really vacuum every day with, for example, laminate, loose dust quickly accumulates, and it is much more "airborne" than the bound dust that settles in the carpet. There are now even special carpets for allergy sufferers. It also depends on how the warmth in the apartment is! I once had an apartment where the laminate floor was so cold that the children couldn’t have played on it without a carpet underlay.

This statement is technically and allergologically inaccurate, misleading, and professionally incorrect. The vast number of possible allergic reactions arising from the reaction potential of all potentially possible users and the variety of substances present in carpet flooring is theoretically unmanageable or definable, let alone controllable. Therefore, a general statement on this matter is untenable.

The only valid statement on this topic is that carpet flooring is the most suitable floor covering for house dust allergy sufferers. This is professionally sound and scientifically proven. However, this is something entirely different from a general claim of "suitability for allergy sufferers."

The special suitability of carpet flooring for house dust allergy sufferers does not depend on the manufacturer but on the product category and therefore applies to synthetic carpets of all manufacturers, including those (which are most) who do not "label" this special category property and certainly not generally.

Furthermore: -> ALWAYS FOR CARPET FLOORING <-

I have a huge project ahead of me, including covering the entire upper floor (approx. 100 sqm) with new flooring. After considering all the important criteria to me

- Costs
- Cleaning (vacuuming alone is faster than vacuuming AND damp cleaning)
- Resistance and durability
- Aesthetics (uniform in all rooms, coverable with rugs, calm color...)

I will do it again like in my previous house (I never regretted it there either...):

I am choosing the good old needle felt, which by now also comes in many interesting versions. However, I am going with the simple dark gray one, a piece from the roll in 4 meters width. Attention: In my experience, the seller will somehow resist, because he can only earn little... In my case: 8.90 euros per meter, laying 4.50. The floor is glued down, and you really have peace of mind for decades. No pressure marks, excellent to clean, and as durable as hardly anything else.

However, this only applies to the secondary rooms upstairs; downstairs I prefer parquet and tiles.

Best regards

E.

Hello!

Carpet flooring has a big advantage: You can't see the dirt!

For better understanding: Simply wear the underwear for at least 3 years, stomp on it daily with street shoes, and occasionally blow through it with a hairdryer – or borrow a microscope.

Other floor coverings also have disadvantages, but without the GAG-factor .

Regards, TT.

Well, you can also get carpet clean.... (with appropriate cleaners) but then the cleaning "advantage" is gone.... On the topic of "out" I simply don't find carpet nice. At least as a floor covering, it doesn't appeal to me. I would much rather lay parquet, or at least laminate!

I don't want to see carpet anymore either. At least not fully laid out in every room. That drives me crazy. However, I find small rugs quite nice... if they look good. And regarding cleaning... I get our small rugs... I should probably call them runners... clean. There are some good cleaning products for that.
