What do you think about a laundry chute?

hello everyone,
we could have a laundry chute installed in the new house but everyone advises us against it. Most say that in relation to the benefit it is simply too expensive. Should we listen to that or what do you think about it?

Hi,
I think that's a great idea, you shouldn't let anyone talk you out of it. I once stayed in a house where they had that too, it went straight to the basement and there the laundry fell into a basket. I would like something like that too but my house is already finished.

Hello, if the house is not very big then something like that is a luxury that is not necessarily needed. Because you can easily carry those few parts down to the basement yourself. A central vacuum cleaner would help me much more, because that one is heavy to carry.

Such a shaft is really a nice thing, and if I had the opportunity I would gladly have it installed. Especially if you have children, it is very practical. When I think about the baskets full of laundry that I carry down to the basement, I wouldn’t hesitate for long.

That only pays off if you have a lot of laundry. For me, that wouldn't be necessary, because I can easily carry my few socks and underwear to the basement myself.

Hello,
I can imagine that cold air is coming up from the cellar through such a shaft. If you want to do that, make sure that the shaft can be completely closed so that heat is not lost.
