I would also get a conveyor belt for that. To be honest, I wouldn't have asked at all. If something breaks, you'd be cheaper off in the end with the damage. And if nothing happens, no one notices. Really outrageous.

Are the quantities so large that you cannot pick them up yourself with a trailer? It takes a bit longer, but the risk on the way is not that great, and you certainly don’t have to pay a fee for that.

I will also soon be building in Hamburg (Pfeifenstielgrundstück) Driveway 3 meters wide, with 1 sidewalk in front. Does anyone know if the path supervisor also charges money for the crossing with construction vehicles? What exactly does a path supervisor do and is one absolutely necessary, why can't a private company possibly restore the damaged sidewalk? My general contractor has budgeted €5,000 for this in the ancillary costs—is this a flat fee that must be paid?

Our property is not accessible by vehicle at all. We always have bulk materials and other things dumped at the roadside or delivered in big bags, and then I spend the whole day bringing the stuff in with a little shovel and bucket. That means carrying about 2 tons at a time, which can sometimes take up to 2 days, but it costs nothing. With a wheelbarrow and helpers, it should be done quickly in 1-2 hours. We always have containers for rubble placed on the public street, which costs 30 euros per week for the container placement permit from the city. We even carried the screed from our basement down 66 steps from the property to the street – fortunately less exhausting than transporting it from the upper street, because going downhill the mortar tubs practically slide by themselves. So either use the public street and muscles, or pay. In any case, you have that choice. (Crane unloading of BigBags is certainly also a solution, a bit more expensive but less exhausting than carrying it yourself).

Order delivery with crane jib, 5-10m is no problem.

Ok, we are building in Hamburg-Rahlstedt and had already counted on the 5,000 euros. The path surveyor also came and marked a bit and was very nice. But at the end he said: So, the whole thing will now cost you 7,800€!!! I have to say, we are building a duplex, which means there is also a second driveway, but it's still quite a shock. I also recorded this again in our Rahlstedt construction diary. It’s really tough. What do people pay in other cities?
