I am usually stuck in traffic during the holidays on the way to Munich (A9) or Hamburg (A24). Strangely enough, not on a rainy Thursday morning at the beginning of November. That's why we don't have too few highways right away... The fact that we are a developing country when it comes to infrastructure for charging stations was made very clear to me again by my recently finished vacation in Norway. I doubt there is too little electricity, as the thread starter suggests.

Unfortunately not only when it comes to charging stations.

It must be said that the expansion has at least picked up considerable speed. 01.01.2023: 88,313 charging points 01.07.2023: 97,495 charging points 01.10.2023: 108,266 charging points 01.01.2024: 123,449 charging points This makes us at least number 2 in Europe in [D] (5 times more charging points than in Norway) - but too few for the area and population. However, this is currently a significant overcapacity for the existing electric cars.

One must also say that Norway has about 5.5 million inhabitants, about 1 million more than Saxony. If the number of Norwegian charging stations were in Saxony, I could probably charge electricity every 2 km. (I know, the comparison is a bit flawed due to the area measurements of the countries)

Norway has already paved the way for electric cars, while in DE people were still asleep.

Theory. As already complained about, a charging point is often counted two or three times. If I offer AC, CCS, and CHAdeMO, I am listed with 3 charging points. In reality, however, I may only be able to supply one. If I offer CCS or CHAdeMO on the same column, it counts as a second. But in reality, only one can charge because the other plug is blocked. Charging points are also 22 kW columns by the way. VW basically charges on AC only with 11 kW.

I drive an ID.4 and cover about 40,000 km per year based on current scaling. It works, at the moment. If expansion does not continue massively, we will run into massive problems. You don't know that, where else would you know. You drive 20 km from home to the office and back. That's okay too. But please stick to the topics you can judge and don't talk over us, who are supposed to cover tens of thousands of kilometers with electric cars in the future, because with all due respect you have no clue about that.
