Wall structure 36.5 Poroton T8 including clinker

Hello everyone,

I am new here and have already browsed the forum a bit for my question, but so far I haven't found anything more suitable.

We are in the final stages with our construction company, and a bigger issue for us is still the wall structure.
We definitely want a clinker or clinker brick – but tend towards a real clinker because of the quality.

With a T8 stone (36.5cm) and clinker, the wall thickness comes to just under 50cm.
We are a bit unsure whether that is not too thick and possibly looks odd? Are there any experiences with this?
And what experiences do you have regarding the indoor climate with such a wall structure?

T8 + [klinker] is nonsense. Either T8 plus [Riemchen]. (I personally don't find that nice) Or a 17.5 cm brick (Poroton or calcium silicate brick) + intermediate insulation + [klinker].

Why is T8 + clinker nonsense? What disadvantages are there?

You already wrote it yourself above, at 50cm you just have a great castle feeling.

A T8 is quite expensive but has the advantage that it can be plastered directly without additional insulation, so the disadvantages of an ETICS do not apply. However, if the brick is not plastered, it no longer has any advantages.

I don’t find the 50 cm itself problematic, we also have about 47 cm.
