Vinyl deforming under strong sunlight exposure?

Hello everyone!

I got a second offer today regarding vinyl planks. Since my house will have a pronounced south-facing orientation as well as floor-to-ceiling windows, vinyl was discouraged because it is "not permissible" for this purpose.

Temperatures of "up to 70°C" (quote!) (greetings to the cooling thread!) are to be expected there. The MANUFACTURER does not provide any warranty for this place of use. The first provider said nothing about it.
Because he didn't know about the windows, is unscrupulous, or the whole thing is not true anyway?

Who can surf waves on their vinyl?

Vinyl is also commonly installed in cars. There you have the same temperatures. But since it is a soft and elastic plastic, not much really happens except that the plasticizers evaporate and the stuff eventually becomes brittle.

Maybe the other manufacturer also laminated the vinyl onto something, and that could lead to delaminations, etc. If it’s only the planks, they already withstand the sun, and yes, it gets quite warm. The sun is quite intense.

Vinyl or design flooring reacts to heat by expanding, therefore expansion joints should be observed, and direct strong sunlight (floor-to-ceiling windows) can also result in discoloration or fading. The manufacturers always provide the corresponding instructions in the installation guidelines.

Okay, so vinyl is- well, what actually? :D It's probably not that clear. For better assessment: I was around 50 euros in the class. Here it's probably no longer due to poor material, if it takes offense from the sun.

Is it known whether EVERY vinyl systemically has problems with heating up from the sun? Does anyone know someone who has already had permanent damage?

I'm asking because I really like the look of the vinyl and I would only reluctantly switch to the more expensive parquet, because it looks stupid in my desired color.

So if you are already in the 50€ class, good parquet is also available cheaper.

We have only installed vinyl on the upper floor. In two rooms, there are balcony doors facing south. When the sun shines, the shades go down to keep the temperatures in the rooms bearable. Therefore, we do not have any problems with it.

We were able to see the power of the sun during the renovation. The laminate floor had turned green (!) over the years:
