Unifi NanoHD, really that great?

I have been testing a NanoHD for a few days now. For administration, I am running a controller on a Windows server. Setup went well. Very simple. At first glance, everything looks great. Reception quality is no better than with a Fritz 1750, but it does have PoE and nice throughput. What really annoys me, however, is that there seems to be a problem with IOS devices: For some reason, our iPhones as well as our iPad randomly lose connection to the NanoHD. When trying to reconnect the devices, it says "Wrong password." A bit of research showed that this apparently is not a rare phenomenon. There seems to be a fix for newer Apple devices, but I haven’t tested it yet due to lack of time. Regardless, I find it unfortunate that an alleged premium product does not work "out of the box" with really ordinary clients, but apparently requires special settings. I will try to apply the fix mentioned online over the weekend. If it works, so be it. But still disappointing for such an expensive product.

I have over 10 NanoHDs in use and know many who have also installed them. We have almost exclusively Apple devices. No problems whatsoever... Do you have the latest software/firmware on all of them? Please do not activate fast roaming. If you change settings, the access point restarts. That takes some time. The phenomenon you describe usually only occurs if the access point has not fully restarted yet. However, the WiFi is already visible. Unifi is not a consumer product. In other words, it is expected that you set it up properly.

Have you played around with any values? For example, minimum, optimizing WLAN for 5GHz, etc.?

I had a somewhat similar issue with my FireTV sticks when I activated the 5GHz optimization.

Besides that, I can only agree with . The network runs absolutely stable, no matter which device is used.

I'm not aware of having configured anything. And as far as proper integration goes, there's not much more than "integrating" via the controller, unless I were to configure something further after integrating. And regarding the iOS issue, just search for "Unifi wrong password". I'm not entirely alone with this. I'll reset the device again over the weekend. There's still a test pending on the Cisco switch anyway. Let's see how it turns out.

What I can recommend to you is to disable the automatic Wifi optimization in the Unifi Controller. Does the problem persist even when you only use 2.4 GHz and deactivate 5 GHz?

I have been running the AC for several days now without any problems. When I had the issues, the AC was connected directly to the [Fritte]. Now it is connected to the Cisco switch. When it was connected to the [Fritte], I wanted to test a second Unifi AC with a different SSID in parallel. Since that one is out and the one alone is connected to the Cisco, it runs great. I suspect that I did not set up the other one with its own SSID properly in a hurry, so they interfered with each other. Next, I will connect the second one to the Cisco and see what happens.
