Cheers to suspended ceilings! Seriously, we lost about 15cm of room height because of it, but it doesn't bother us at all. Now we only have 2.50m as well. But the flexibility we have is simply great.

Well....

If you use a flush-mounted box instead of a Halox box when manufacturing the filigree ceiling (assuming they even do that), you save almost nothing. The effort remains the same or is even higher because the flush-mounted box is not made for that. The Halox box costs just about 20 euros in purchase.

If you install 1-2 boxes completely on your own, in my opinion, the effort is not worth it either. Because you also have to organize Cat cables and the conduit. Additionally, there are travel costs to the construction site, suitable tools, and labor time.

In case anyone is interested :-). I put the first access point into operation yesterday. I recessed the access point completely into the box and screwed a white speaker grille to the ceiling. Recessed or not, I don’t notice any difference at least for me.

Do you have the comparison of on the ceiling to in the ceiling? A completely identical performance in both positions contradicts any physics.

Exactly. From on the ceiling to in the ceiling (Access point depth=33mm). The access point lies on the speaker grille.
It will definitely not be the same performance.
Only for me, within the movement radius to the next access point, a drop in performance is not measurable, at least with the means available to me :).
Even if some performance is lost, it is still a good compromise for me.
I find those things pretty ugly.
