From this point of view and considering that things can easily be delayed because of the weather, in my opinion a vacation is definitely possible.
Our site manager said he is expecting 3 weeks, as there are still other construction sites currently active. I don’t think anyone will be there tomorrow.
But from the masonry work onwards, we were regularly on site and could have any mistakes fixed right away.
So if earthworks should start at the end of June, when would the masons probably be there? I should ask the site manager.
My humble layman’s opinion: That really depends a lot on the construction method. If you’re building turnkey or with BT I could imagine a relaxed vacation. Otherwise, rather not.
We are building solid and turnkey with a general contractor.
Definitely not!
I don’t understand either – your mind is not free at all with a major project.
We haven’t been able to go on vacation for the last 3 years, due to health reasons and of course because of the pandemic.
Our little one suffered the most because she constantly had to make sacrifices.
We are so incredibly in need of a vacation that honestly I am convinced we can definitely switch off.
Since we are building in a gap site, there is nothing else to see here and no other builders etc.
I am just wondering how long I can stay away once the earthworks start.
We also have a building expert, wouldn’t that also ease things a bit?
Vacation during construction is a really stupid idea. You can forget it; you can’t switch off at all. Even with a site manager not a good idea.
Yes, I am convinced that we could switch off, we really have an urgent need for a vacation!
Only if the construction would stop because we are not here, that would annoy me!
