Well, I still don’t understand. 1. An F7 filter should at least be installed, right? 2. Sure, but an enthalpy heat exchanger is one with moisture recovery. That can be retrofitted. 4. Something doesn’t add up there. After at most an hour, you no longer smell that a roasting orgy took place here. 5. The problem can happen if the wind is unfavorable and the wood burners start up. But with a 10-minute window ventilation, you get the dirt into the house too...

Furthermore, I would really be interested in what customer service said about it.

Best regards

What is the customer service supposed to say? Nothing is broken, incorrectly installed, or anything like that. Everything is normal. And it’s not just me who has this problem, but also acquaintances who have the same controlled residential ventilation. It’s generally a problem with controlled residential ventilation systems. There is some kind of filter in there, but I don’t know what kind.

Moisture recovery is also not ideal; many have already advised me against it. Over time it creates a great breeding ground for bacteria, which are then stirred up and nicely spread around. The same goes for humidifiers for the rooms. And yes, you don’t smell anything anymore in the kitchen because the extractor is there. But somehow you can still smell it in all the other rooms where there is no extractor. The smell is blown out with the air and around the corner of the house, the air gets sucked in again. If the wind is unfavorable, it blows the smell right in front of the air intake and the smell gets back into the house. Just not in the kitchen, but in the whole house. In the small children’s room on the ground floor it is especially bad because the room is very small and the door is usually closed. In the other rooms, it’s not so noticeable because the rooms are larger and open. And with window ventilation, I can still decide if and when I ventilate. If I don’t like the smell, I just close the window and that’s it. With a controlled residential ventilation system, I don’t run down to the basement and switch it off every time it stinks outside.

But there are supporters and opponents of these systems. Some people don’t mind dry air, others do. There are pros and cons and everyone values different things. And since we regularly open the windows anyway (airing out the bed, shaking out the carpet, watering flowers on the balcony, etc.) and especially the terrace doors, it doesn’t bring us much except the disadvantages. And it’s certainly different if you mainly stay in the house with controlled residential ventilation in the mornings, evenings, and nights or if you are a housewife and spend most of the time at home with the dry air.

Good evening,

Says who?

There are also people who break their finger while picking their nose...

That’s true; but for that you “buy” other disadvantages. As always in life, everything has its pros and cons; it’s always a question of weighing the goods.

And I congratulate your sales consultant!

Rhineland regards

Morning,

Me. Explanations see above already.

...that’s supposed to have happened already. But many posts referred to insufficient/wrong ventilation.

Maybe. Do you mean the disadvantages are the filter changes on the device, the exhaust vents, and the electricity consumption? And of course the investment/interest.

Thanks, can’t complain. But you can surely explain to me why foil in the walls is creepy and unhealthy, and why ETICS on a masonry house is much better.

Franconian greetings
PS: I’m still working on the quote function

Hello,

Read the users' answers here in the thread who have installed such a system; then you will know exactly what advantages and disadvantages you are getting.

I have already written that foil and also an ETICS are not unhealthy. Better or worse is always in the eye of the beholder.

Rhenish greetings

Hello,

well, I see the points I mentioned as disadvantages. We are very much aware of them, but after two years with controlled residential ventilation, I no longer want to miss the advantages I mentioned.

You didn't write the "creepy and unhealthy" part either. We have both – so foil in the wall AND [WDVS].
But I didn't quite understand your statement with the congratulations to the sales consultant. I already knew the pros and cons of a timber frame prefabricated house beforehand.

Best regards
