Hello dear home builders,

we are facing an unsightly wall in our T-bathroom and wanted to ask how this can be better solved.

See photo, it is about the side wall of our 'T', tiled up to the ceiling at the front, on the other side the toilet is only tiled up to 120 cm high.

On the side you can clearly see the tile trim, however with an offset of 1 cm, for the reasons explained above. My wife can't sleep peacefully because of this :)

I don't know a solution for that. That's what happens when you tile one side only halfway up and not the other. We also have a corner like that in the guest bathroom, which fortunately is not directly in the line of sight.

We omitted the stainless steel rail from the middle upwards and had it plastered flush.

Show me the other side, it must look even worse because one side of the stainless steel edge is exposed, right?

Yes, it's annoying. This comes from the extras that have not been considered and coordinated with other trades. The plumber is confronted with such a wall but is only supposed to tile up to 1.20 meters high. None of this has been discussed and it is not intended in a turnkey house. I would put a plant against the flow or a towel hook there, so it doesn't stand out.

They could have applied the plaster thicker above the tiles in the WC.

Still, tiling all the way up is not an option for you? That would be the only thing I can think of to make it look seamless.

We also had a spot like that on the outside of the shower. When the tiler was here and we had a walkthrough, he said it would look bad in the end as it was planned, and that if we wanted, he could tile the outside of the shower all the way up. Of course, we gratefully accepted that without additional cost.

There are also "corners"/end caps for these corner rails. That would at least make this open spot on the right look nicer/close it!
