There are also "corners"/end caps for these corner rails. That would at least make this open spot on the right look nicer/close it!

At our place, the molding was left off at the top because plastering is still being done here.

On the side you can clearly see the tile rail, but with an offset of 1 cm, due to the reasons explained above. My wife can't sleep peacefully because of that :)

Mine can't either. Then I would also have sleepless nights until it is as my wife would like it.

The step in the front view is impossible. The tiles should have been the same width. At the top then even out on the right with plaster.
