Terrace roofing: Light, dirt, heat - experiences?

We are considering getting a terrace roof. Before choosing a company, we still need to agree on what is reasonable and feasible. We are struggling with 'makes the living room dark,' 'is too hot,' 'sky is no longer visible.'

A sliding option would be an idea. But will it still be slideable after years?
How about heat? We have full morning and midday sun. Actually, the shading is supposed to be above. But then it immediately costs 10,000 euros.
Plastic roof is not that warm. But then you can't see the sky anymore.
Hand on heart: who has regretted getting the terrace roof?

Show me a drawing. Does the Terra roof have to be over an important window? Can it be over an unimportant window? Can it be offset? Preferably glass? What kind of roof do you have in mind in the description? And what do you need a roof for? Every roof has its justification. With €5000 you don’t get the full package either.

That’s more likely to get a terrace roof (with shading), not a roof. As already mentioned, show some drawings/pictures of the house, otherwise there’s no progress here. When it rains and storms, it gets wet under any kind of roof.
