Our first offer was for 6x4m at 20 notes. And I don’t mean hundreds.

The problem the authority probably has is that it is outside the building area. In that respect, I can understand the authority when they say - terrace yes - conservatory no, because as far as I know, the conservatory counts as living space.
But a canopy is not a conservatory.

Do you actually want to leave the canopy open or close it as an unheated "summer garden"?

I have to correct myself:
Since you already have the awning, it will of course be cheaper, and we also have a vertical awning included, which also has to be deducted.

We have a 3-7 terrace, half of which has a glass roof. That was already included in the building application.
Mail from the municipality about having it measured just arrived (so about 4 months after moving in), there is a 3-month deadline for it, not with you?
Just get the stuff measured already, and after that you do your roof and then it's done.

I actually don't want to do anything on the side, so [Sommergarten]. The authority always contacts us for the survey, that's what my architect and also my neighbors told me. I am in the second row, so you can't really see it from the street. Only a drone would see my terrace from the outside. I generally fear putting something expensive there and then having to take it down again in the end. Our building application included a roof, but this was rejected by the building authority, meaning an elevated terrace yes, roof no (it simply wasn't within the building window). And regarding the tarp: I got some ideas. It should of course be properly installed to withstand rain and also made so that no water pockets form. My concern there would be more about the wind. The tarp should also be removable in extreme weather. So somehow stretched on poles and possibly taken down if the wind gets too strong.

Basically like a sun sail, but a rain sail, transparent so that I still have enough daylight in the adjacent living room.

Maybe a rainproof pergola awning would be something for you?
