Unfortunately, you are not answering my questions and I also did not understand that, in your opinion, people are supposed to be forced to carry weapons; you must have briefly slipped in the forum. That you were attacked is, of course, terrible, there is no doubt about that, and that the police need time until they arrive is unfortunately unchangeable. On the other hand, I would not find it nice or necessarily better if a police officer stood every 500 meters. no comment...... .....is the song prescribed, or do you at least have free choice of melody? Well then, why don’t you tell a clueless person YOUR knowledge in this context, that carrying weapons guarantees security in the USA. As a film recommendation: "Bowling for Columbine." I know, I didn't claim otherwise. We already once took in a failed art student from that country... we should have looked more closely back then. Let’s end this, I definitely don’t want to convert you. What happened to you is terrible, but in my opinion, radicalism does not really help because of that, and family fathers who like to watch their family being tormented or sing songs can only be found in bad movies, and even the police are not stupid.

Hello pagoni2020

no!

That is actually recommended by the police leadership.

because of the robbery I had no problems. It just made me thoughtful.
I just want to be able to defend myself adequately in case of emergency.
Until 2003 it was normal to have a legally owned loaded weapon on the nightstand at night. That’s how I learned it, and that’s how I practiced it.
Then the state became concerned that this was far too dangerous, so I had to store the weapon in a safe.
In 2013 a safe company, through aggressive lobbying, pushed politics to the point that old safes (which this company had sold until then) had to be replaced by new safes. OK, I did that and placed a loaded weapon in my safe in the bedroom. Then (I believe it was 2015) that was also considered too dangerous and it became mandatory to store the weapon unloaded in the safe. The loaded magazine could (and still can) lie next to it.
There are rumors that the government is thinking about requiring ammunition to be stored separately from the weapon.
That gives the perpetrators more time to break in. So: protection of the perpetrator. I can’t think of any other explanation.

Is that your question that I am supposed to answer?
What does the trained police officer do when there is rustling in the bushes? What does he do,...
HUH?
Was the question meant seriously?

That is of course nonsense, and with a little thought, you would notice that yourself.

And a closer look at the USA shows that in the states where gun ownership is handled restrictively, and in some cases completely prohibited, most crimes with weapons occur. In the states with liberal gun laws, a statistic reveals few weapon-specific crimes, and burglaries are statistically extremely low.

Yes, the number of burglaries may be lower. But the number of people injured or killed by these weapons is significantly higher. But that's not so bad, right? The main thing is fewer burglaries. A little tip: get yourself a small gun permit and a blank-firing pistol. Those things look so real and cause enough damage to scare off 99.9% of burglars. If you are able to aim at people.

Hello motorradsilke

In my self-defense courses I strongly advise against using a blank-firing pistol.
They are relatively ineffective and only look tough. At least the blank-firing weapons built according to German PTB standards are easy to recognize as blank guns.
So threatening without being able to carry out the threat, you shouldn’t do that.
Why shouldn’t I be able to aim at people?
I was at war for Germany for 3 years.
