With us, the extra cost for 45x90 instead of 30x60 was something like 3-4€..

But looking at the effort, the tiler probably miscalculated.

There was no additional charge for me at all. We have the following sizes:

100x33
60x30
90x45
60x60

Baseboards were cut from tiles - on site for the 60x30 ones.

We had 60x30 tiles installed everywhere quite ordinarily.
By the way, baseboards made of tile are annoying because you always have to dust them from above...

The material doesn't matter - as long as it is not flush, you always have dust on it.
I had the strips filled with joint material, it's then a bit easier to keep clean than with acrylic.

It doesn’t matter who of us had how much of a surcharge: we also have including the 30x60, but have wood look in the bathroom with similar dimensions -> smaller area, so I can’t even say whether our tiler charged anything. However, the question arises whether you have considered making sure that the structure of the tile pattern does not repeat too rarely. At the price of 38€, I doubt that the frequency of the embossing creates a nice image (the more expensive, the more structures, the nicer). Therefore, I would check that again, then think about it and then possibly decide whether you don’t take an alternative in 30x60 after all. By the way, the higher price is derived from the fact that the length is harder to carry and set.

yes, but some are easier to clean. Therefore, we use white painted wooden baseboards everywhere. They can simply be vacuumed.
