I live in a house with a basement, so I simply cannot imagine living without a basement. You can store so much there that you wouldn't have space for otherwise. Here, the heating (oil) and washing machine are in the basement. A room for supplies and a freezer chest is there because the temperature is constantly around 12 degrees all year round. Christmas decorations, rarely used pots or baking molds are also stored in boxes in the basement. There is also a hobby or craft room where a floor drill and a lathe have found their home. I would not like a garden house because it unnecessarily takes up space. It also costs money to purchase and must be maintained. In addition, it might need to be heated in winter, which costs money again. If it is to be connected to your heating system, this also incurs costs for laying the pipes and appropriate insulation. I would recommend you consider what you can do yourselves, e.g., wallpapering, landscaping the garden yourself. Something like that, and investing the money saved into the basement. Also, don't forget not spending money on the garden house. What bad experiences have you had so far with a basement?
