But it's not about the depth of the step, it's about the fact that it doesn't come up high enough to be flush with the floor.
That's how I understood it, that's how it looks in the photo, and I would find that absolutely terrible.

And I don't understand what an exit step is supposed to be? What is it needed for?

The staircase ends with a normal step exactly one step height below the exit - and that is then the finished floor.

That's the only way I would want a staircase, otherwise it's a waste of space!?

In the picture from #1, it depends on whether the last, shorter step is flush with the finished floor. Am I interpreting the picture correctly that this step has not yet been installed?

No, OP writes that the last step is only 15 cm wide and therefore the lighting no longer fits.

And where exactly is the problem that you, dear OP, don't explain yourself again or post another photo? You have already been online.

I would really like to see a staircase without an exit step... definitely super stylish.

*adding, found one. Looks great ..

Just like with Caspar2020, I mean that and I know that. Maybe I am using the word "Austrittstufe" incorrectly? In my opinion, the last step should NOT end flush with the floor level to be reached, but exactly one step depth below. I only know it that way and, conversely, would find a flush adjoining step visually odd. Above all, such a thing unnecessarily takes up space.
