The staircase takes up so much living space. Leave out the staircase and make a storage room for the [Einliegerwohnung] in the basement. Everything else really doesn't make sense.

Unfortunately, that doesn't work. Without the stairs, the granny flat has no access to the basement and would then have to go through the main apartment.

That's why I'm saying, leave out the stairwell and give the granny flat the space for its storage room on the same level. Which planner comes up with such premium platinum nonsense?
I don’t know if I have understood the structure correctly now, but if so, then the spiral staircase would be the only access to the basement room for the resident of the granny flat. How is what is supposed to be stored down there (especially possible cabinets, shelves, other furniture?!) supposed to get down there? You can’t transport anything down the stairs, can you?
I don't know if I have understood the construct correctly now, [...] You can't transport anything over the stairs, can you?
I still have a (although extremely tiny) glimmer of hope that I have misunderstood something here - otherwise this is truly a piece of nonsense planning of the highest order.
