Our child took a long time to understand that what is in the [Mytoys-, Playmobil and Lego catalogs] can actually be wished for. For him, they were more like picture books. Since he realized that you can also buy the items in the catalogs and not just look at them, his wish list has become extremely long. He knows the catalogs inside and out and feels like he wants about half of the [Lego and Playmobil catalog]. We could probably afford to fulfill all the wishes financially, but 1. the children's room would be too small and 2. he wouldn't appreciate what he already has anymore. This was noticeable again at the start of school when the amount of gifts simply overwhelmed him. Sometimes less is more. Also in terms of time. When we have a weekend packed too full, the response was "but I haven't even been able to play yet."

How, less is sometimes more? This statement in this forum! Where building a house only feels worthwhile from 160 sqm of living space and a plot size of 600 sqm!?

There isn’t ONE forum, fortunately it consists of living and more or less differently thinking or different kinds of individuals.
And "size," even of an area, usually has only limited significance.
I have already written sometimes that I would wish for more individuality anyway, which is not predominantly expressed through size and/or money.
I have really seen great and above all extremely tasteful implementations in more affordable construction projects here, but not necessarily in some high-priced ones.
LESS mass (area, size...) - MORE class (individuality, own taste, courage...), that’s how I would answer your above question.

Maybe I should mark my jokes better as such in the future...

I also saved there, both on the living space and the plot size, and also on comfort. (see controlled residential ventilation discussion in the thread about electricity consumption). But soon it will be mine and no longer the bank’s. And then I’ll retire at 50 or something like that.

If you do that, then really chapeau! If not, then you saved in the wrong place and in my eyes did it wrong.
