I didn't even address you...?? Besides, my post is the opposite of general, but explicitly related to the quoted user ;)

Yes.. twice right.. I take back the "pauschal". I had to intervene again. I had the feeling my contribution had provoked that ;)

Who’s getting aggressive here… I have never given any advice here, only reported how we did it. I was not aware that you are only allowed to join the conversation here if you have taken out loans of +500K.

Even with 500k, you first have to manage to afford an average installment of 1.8K, especially alone. I do not expect pats on the back from anyone. We give them to ourselves for having achieved our goal of under 10 years – we don’t know anyone in our circle who has done that.

I would like to know the modest income to understand how one can “just” repay €40,000 early.... ;)

I didn’t attack you but placed your statements in an important context. There are enough silent readers here who might get panicked when they think about their debts, so it is important to show that your situation is an absolute exception.

And you confirm it again with the quoted statement here:
yes, great... and you don’t know anyone in your circle? Surprise?? Maybe because 99% of home builders with a 180k loan wouldn’t even have a roof over the shell?
So if you bring your “circle” into play to pat yourself on the back, then I assume they all also have a 180k loan and are not finished in under 10 years?

Exactly, they all bought / built at about the same time and took out similar loans. The environment is rather of the type to pay as little as possible. And every year there is a new reason not to make the special repayment.
