The alternative to special repayment of the loan is of course NOT to put all the remaining money into 1-5 individual stocks! An All World ETF probably didn't even feel a slight breeze when the Wirecard storm swept across Germany.

I am honestly fascinated by how much money apparently remains for some despite expensive house construction and family.

Well, that's how it is when you work in the poor public service. You don't need to worry about stocks etc.
We therefore put everything into special repayments and consumption. The last shirt has no pocket and who knows what the future holds - I live now.

probably has less to do with the public sector than with the professions practiced - double teacher couples, for example, are not exactly rare and suddenly there are 6000 to 7000 net.....

Are you a civil servant? Then you don't have to worry either.... As long as all politicians agree on wanting more money, you will have an adequate pension.

We don't need to worry about special repayments yet, even though we both earn well (Ü5k netto). Everything goes into consumption, the house, the garden, and our children.
