Soundproofing - staircase from kitchen/dining area to the upper floor

We are planning a staircase from the kitchen/dining area upwards. The living room should be separated by a sliding door to avoid disturbing the children when sleeping in the evening, for example if there are guests. (Bild ist im Anhang)

We are considering installing soundproof doors in the children's rooms due to the open design. Which class would you recommend?

Are there people here who regret having built it so open? Or would you do it the same way again? With a gallery, it is probably similar regarding sound transmission to the upper floor, right?

I would advise against soundproof doors. I had one installed for my home office. It's great. But in the children's room, you wouldn't hear them if they have a problem, are crying, etc. And they wouldn't hear you if you call them when they are supposed to come down.

Officially Class 2, but there is no lock in the door, so there is a hole the size of a lock cylinder. (approx. 1x3 cm). Without the hole, I really wouldn’t hear anything.

For the home office, this is a dream. No Telco will ever be disturbed when I have the door closed.
