I am also of the opinion that a children's room, which is supposed to function until 18/19/20 or even 25 years, should be at least 15, preferably 20sqm. If possible! Interesting how differently sizes are built.
For us, 140 sqm is ideal.
We are also thinking about old age and then we will be just two again. That’s why everything will be built on one level and age-appropriate.

I have to say, including the granny flat (for longer visits from my mother-in-law) it’s even 300sqm + 70sqm basement + garage. Currently, there are 3 of us, but another child is planned. Let’s say it’s generous, but not as big as it seems.
Of course, it can be smaller, but often it’s nice to have a few extra sqm here and there. Admittedly, we also have above-average “traffic areas” because other things were simply more important to us than a few sqm here or there... Otherwise:

Yes exactly It's simply a room that I can plan however I want. Maybe not necessarily like you know it from old movies, a room where alcohol and cigarettes are in the foreground but with a home cinema corner, a few fitness devices, etc. My wife doesn't want to know anything about it
