You seem to be a friend of many words, but in terms of content you deliver little of relevance. What "state" does your general contractor deliver, how does he ensure it, which state do you imagine, and how should this be ensured in your view?

As long as you are not able to define the delivery condition, for example, of the party separating wall or the separation joint, we are just talking a lot about would, could, should, might.

We haven’t even scratched the surface yet.

... even if the term can describe a meaning, as a coined word it is still something that can only come to mind in a professorship endowed by a foundation. You basically want to coat finished, complete walls in the hope of soundproofing them with sand-lime brick (or place a sand-lime brick wall floating in front of them)? If I ever get tired of my job, I'll switch to being a sand-lime brick dealer. Apparently, in some circles this stuff must have a myth-like reputation like omnipotent globules. Twice three meters of building gap is of course the best separating joint *LOL* I think it was Müntefering who called it a bicycle chain One swallow does not make a summer, and watching Quarks twice a year does not replace a physics degree.

Hm, you are right about that... important information is still missing and as I said I am aware of that... but I have (as already written... "friend of many words", yeah yeah... you know ) given the manufacturer a break here first, so as not to constantly pick at the wound like a madman.

Basically, however, according to my understanding and in accordance with VDI 4100 SST II, the general contractor must deliver (regarding the neighboring buildings) according to the BGH ruling. Certainly a point of contention if this is not anchored in the contract from the outset.

Whether SST II already represents "my personal target" I doubt, as I rather want to be on the safe side as much as possible.
Hence also the idea of the "massive Globuli sand-lime brick" in sensitive areas.

The proof of the actual situation can presumably be provided by a building acoustician, I assume.

No. The first sentence of the reasoning states:
"Which sound insulation is owed for the construction of semi-detached houses must be determined by interpretation of the contract."
Later the reference:
"Indications can be derived from the standards for sound insulation levels II and III of the VDI Guideline 4100 from 1994 or the Supplement 2 to DIN 4109."
The 25-year-old VDI 4100:1994 is of course no longer valid and does not correspond to the state of the art. The 4100 was revised in 2007 and 2012; the 2007 version was withdrawn but was still applied for some years.

Good luck. No university of applied sciences builder will be able to deliver that for you. Many solid builders would likely refuse or charge considerable extra costs.

It's a pity that so little attention is paid overall ... we were looked at strangely because we wanted the downpipe from the upstairs bathroom that goes through the dining room to be soundproofed and we're annoyed that it wasn't done with the outdoor water taps as well ... now you can hear the water when the irrigation is on ... it doesn't have to be like that, such a dumb foil around the pipe costs 3.50 .... I also know people whose toilet is on the wall to the children's room ... great, now they have to use the guest toilet in the evening because otherwise the child wakes up .. who plans something like that and how are you supposed to know beforehand that it could be a problem?
