We have also currently consciously decided on a system with [WDVS]. Every component of the wall does exactly what it is good at, no compromises.
We still have the free choice, but it will very likely be [EPS]. Cheap and fulfills its purpose excellently. I don't see any serious disadvantages. Fire protection is not an issue, indoor climate not an issue (since it will be built airtight anyway), disposal during my lifetime irrelevant (and I strongly assume that it will soon be possible to recycle it properly), ecological aspects... yes, you could bring them up, but please without double standards (flying across the big pond twice a year yourself, driving an SUV in the city, daily meat consumption, but having something against [EPS]... well, okay).
In my opinion, the only real disadvantage is that you cannot easily attach things to the wall from the outside arbitrarily. However, with proper planning, this is no problem.
