Cool topic - we had that yesterday too (dressing room & wardrobe).

Great tip with Ivar, because I had only considered it in natural so far and it was standing in our basement.

As a wardrobe, we are currently considering a 1.60m Pax with sliding doors and a shelf attached next to it. The Pax with at least one mirrored door. My wife prefers the wardrobe area to look tidier... I’m not sure yet if such a cabinet will look right there.

With us, that would lead to the children simply leaving their shoes and jackets in front of it... oh, what am I kidding, probably me too. We'll start by building the children's house in the garden ourselves, let's see how crooked it will turn out. Although - I should hopefully be able to handle a board like that.

Wardrobe: If it can be open, one could also imagine a panel system. Maybe something like the Labos wall system from Häfele. Bedroom: Would it be an alternative to simply swap bed and closet front?

Thanks for the tip about the wall system, I'll take a closer look at it. Better not to swap the bed and wardrobe wall - then you would have a view from the door onto the bed.

On the topic of the wardrobe: We have a wardrobe niche that was just over 1.20m wide. Various offers from the carpenter and kitchen manufacturer for a wall cabinet (simply two drawers) and a wardrobe rod started at 1500 euros. Now there hangs a Besta wall cabinet with drawers and a glass cover and a wardrobe rod that I bought on Amazon for a total of 200 euros. Looks great. We definitely wanted two drawers there so that keys, gloves, scarves, etc. are not always lying around visible to everyone. On the topic of the wardrobe closet: Our Pax is the only cabinet that moved from our apartment to our house. It now stands in the utility room and serves as a cabinet for shoes, seasonal jackets, and wrapping paper. In the dressing room we also took Pax cabinets again. However, there without doors. We also have 60cm cabinets there and one 37cm cabinet because of a boxed-in pipe. But it fits so great that way. However, I would not take too many 37cm ones, as no clothes rods or similar fit inside. Why do you actually want to take only the 2m version and not the taller one?

I do not understand why the depth of a wardrobe always has to be determined by the hangers. There are practical extendable hanger holders for this purpose.
