Hi

I need your help, tips, and so on. We are currently working on the electrical planning and I’m not really making progress.

We have 2 kids’ rooms, 1 bedroom, 1 office, and 1 living room.

Kids’ rooms: 6 sockets planned: 1 at the window, 1 at the light switch, 2 at the window for the desk and 2x1 socket in the other corners // 1x LAN at the desk // 1x TV not yet decided

Bedroom: 2 at each side of the bed, 1 for the wardrobe, 1x at the light switch // 3x push-button combination to switch the main light on/off from the bed and door // 1x LAN / 1x TV (both behind the large wardrobe for possibly later - currently not used)

Office: 3x for PC/printer and desk (monitor/charging cable/lamp), 1x light button at the window, 2x for the other corners / 1x LAN / 1x TV (both at the PC position)

Living room: this gets more complicated: 1x LAN 1x TV, 4x sockets + 1 switch for on/off, 4 sockets for permanent power, 1x power for TV position (wall position), 1x power for projector, 1x power for screen, 2x power for subwoofer, 2x power for each end of the sofa, 2x spare sockets in the corners // HDMI cable in empty conduit from AVR to TV and projector, speaker cables (7 pieces each 2x4mm²) to various positions including connection box at the AVR side (speakers will be mounted directly on the wall - on wall speakers) socket at the window by the dining table

Kitchen: 3x 2 sockets on the countertop, 1x power at the window

All in all this seems a bit few sockets to me.

Each socket costs €23, actually not much. A decent 3-core cable also costs nearly €10 (not this cheap junk)

How many sockets have you installed per room? Do you maybe have some tips?

How many sockets you need also depends on your needs and the furnishings.

For example, we have first placed our furniture on the entire floor plan on paper to see where the TV goes, where indirect lighting, where music speakers, where I need sockets for, for example, my vacuum cleaner (so that I can vacuum as much as possible without unplugging), coffee machine, etc.
We have put sockets under many light switches and almost everywhere double or triple sockets because individually distributed sockets do not make sense for us.
You can never have enough sockets.

And remember to plan enough sockets even in the outdoor area.

You can never have too many sockets. Never use single sockets, always take double sockets. The same applies to LAN. Children's room: at least a double socket in every corner of the room, possibly also below the light switch + double socket for LAN + television. Bedroom: like the children's room + sockets for reading lamps (if needed) next to the beds + sockets for waterbeds (if ever planned). Office: like the children's room, enough sockets at the PC's place + enough LAN (four pieces = phone + PC + printer + ???). Living room: very individual, for example, we have eight sockets behind the sideboard where the flat screen hangs (2x preamplifier/power amplifier + HTPC + flat screen + CD player + Wii + Bluetooth receiver for stereo system), sockets in every window recess for "decoration" (woman's wish), enough LAN for phone, PC, preamplifier etc. + floor boxes for speaker cables (but it can also be a socket for raclette under the dining table) etc. Otherwise, Dindin's advice fits: you can never have enough sockets.

Hi, could you tell me what the file might be called? That way I can't find anything, of course.
