As a teenager, a bigger bed is definitely necessary! Sleeping in a 90cm children’s bed with your first girlfriend is just embarrassing!!

A width of 1.40m is definitely needed! And yes! The word embarrassing is not an exaggeration! Teenagers really feel that way!

There are also adult beds under 1.40 meters

What isn’t embarrassing to a teenager these days... do we really have to do everything for the teens so that nothing is embarrassing? You'll be a hotel mom forever that way They need some incentive to leave the nest...

But it also has its advantages. For me, it wasn't that long ago, and I remember well. At least from the beginning there was physical contact, but let's not get carried away here. I agree with you... shortly after there was also a new 1.40m bed.

If I absolutely have to plan a power outlet now, then I would assume a 1.40m bed. I think small children are not interested in where they charge their toys. Later on, people pay more attention to that. A light switch at the bed is a cool thing, but I believe you won't die from pressing the switch. Also, it is exactly one lamp. In 10 years it will almost certainly be controllable by phone anyway. There are already plenty of options in this regard.

1.40 is okay for a teenager, I had that too. 1.20 also works if the room can't fit more. Loft bed - yes, we have one right now - annoying, never again. So the kid got it because I always wanted one when I was younger and never got it. Now I know why. Making the bed on that thing is really hell (because everything around is secured with beams and netting and cushions, I can't reach anything, the morning waking up is also great when she’s lying in the farthest corner and I can’t even grab a leg to pull - but she sleeps restlessly and I’m afraid she might slip out otherwise). Uh, on the topic

Double sockets in every corner, where the desk will eventually go a few more, considering PC / laptop or whatever. One network socket too. (the WLAN and network factions always argue about that).

And yes, furnish according to the age, now the floor space for toys really counts.
(I’m looking forward to the time when all that stuff finally gets thrown out...)

So we have 11 sockets and two LAN outlets in the children's rooms. There are therefore two possible places for the bed and TV/desk. In some cases, we have planned the sockets "at the head end" of the bed, so it wouldn't matter how wide the bed is.

What the hell does one need 11 sockets for in a children's room? We have 10 in our living room (33m²), two of which are switchable. And that is more than enough. You can't avoid multiple sockets anyway because there are always situations where the cables are not long enough.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry so much about the children's rooms. Yes, a bed of 1.40 should fit in later. A light switch by the bed is not necessary; there are bedside lamps for that. And otherwise extension cords if the way to the socket is too far. In the parents' bedroom, it's a bit different, as the furniture tends not to be rearranged so often.

A double socket for the network is completely sufficient for a children's room. The trend is increasingly towards wireless devices. And even with a double socket, I can connect four devices via a splitter if absolutely necessary.
