Smartmeter - not yet a standard in new construction?

Of course, after optimizing electricity consumption according to photovoltaics, there probably isn’t much left. And the cheap electricity times also correlate quite strongly with the yield of the photovoltaics. I would be surprised if after photovoltaic optimization more than 10% could be optimized via Tibber. If at all sensible, variable electricity tariffs are more for people without photovoltaics, as they still have 100% of the optimization possibilities.

Well, cheap electricity is probably available when consumption is low, like at 2 a.m.? Usually, there's little sun then. But maybe the car isn't fully charged yet, the dryer has been refilled, the dishwasher is loaded with dishes from dinner. I'm just speculating, if the kWh only costs 0.07€, it might be better to quickly do all that with grid electricity and feed in the solar power from 5 to 7 a.m. instead (for 0.08€)? I don't know if that's realistic, but I could imagine it...

That used to be the case when most of the power came from nuclear and coal plants. They are sluggish, so the idea was to adjust consumption to production through cheap electricity. This pattern still holds in winter, but not in the summer half-year. Rather the opposite. When all the photovoltaic systems feed in at noon, prices plummet.

Don't we already have enough radiation from all the smart phones? Now smart meters as well? I know this from the USA. There, consumption values are read monthly and billed. Not with advance payments and annual billing. You always see immediately what's going on. A graph of the last 12 months is also always included with the bill. By the way, this applies to both electricity and gas. There are few successful protest movements in the USA because of the radiation.

Who would want to join a protest march in which only completely brainwashed people participate? That surely isn't healthy.

Back to the question, your meter is a modern measuring device. This can be expanded to an intelligent metering system (=Smartmeter) if your provider already offers this. However, you would have to have a very high consumption to recoup the additional costs through optimization... In the future, with an intelligent metering system, cheaper tariffs will probably be available, making it possible to recover the additional costs more quickly.
