I am quite sure that you don’t need a 4th meter slot for the ripple control receiver. I believe they used to be mounted on the meter. So even back then, no additional space was needed. Technically, that doesn’t really make sense either. Today’s smart meters won’t make it more complicated. You will have one for two meter slots (house + heat pump) + a field for the wiring. If you ever want to have a photovoltaic system on the roof, there are so-called bidirectional meters. But there are also disadvantages to those. It would be nicer to spend 100€ more on a larger meter cabinet and leave one slot free. But that’s up to you. I would recommend discussing this again with your electrician. You can also retroactively install a new smaller cabinet somewhere for the photovoltaic system. That would be the worst solution. In short, to the last question: Yes, that works.
