Brief update: After further discussions with the construction company & the municipality, we will soon receive the construction contract and will then carefully read it. Only two fundamental things have changed in the floor plan. We addressed the problem with the bedroom and generally with the slant. The construction company explained to us again why a height increase is not possible. Roughly speaking, it was about the roof pitch, 1.5-storey design, and the volume of the attic. We also inquired about this again with the municipality and it was confirmed. The knee wall will therefore remain just under 90cm. In the bedroom, we will probably do without the dressing room and thus this partition wall. This gives us better options for placing the bed and everything is not so cramped. In addition, we have moved the utility room about ~60cm further up along the upper wall so that 60cm deep cabinets can still fit there as storage space. The utility room is now approximately 11m², making the living room slightly smaller. However, this gives us a better feeling regarding storage space, storage, etc. without a basement. The heating already takes up considerable space in the utility room.

In this case, I would make sure to soundproof the wall to the children's room a bit more solidly than usual.

Interesting thought How is that done in practice?

Unfortunately, I have little knowledge when it comes to execution. I simply always plan these walls with a thickness of 30 cm – so more massive than the others. But what else can be done, others know better.

Yes, of course you then have to accommodate the roof pitch. But you are prioritizing the attic over the living floor. Think it over: I would prefer a comfortable floor rather than a comfortable storage room. Boxes can also be stored in an attic that is only 1.50 meters high.

Thicker/better bricks that promise more sound insulation.

Are the 45° (see #1) possibly mandatory?
