For an overview/location of the garages:
... I believe there is a misunderstanding: as far as I can see, the site plan does not represent the OP’s project, but rather a development proposal by the housing estate developer. The double garage shown does not open onto the street, but onto the property. However, the OP is planning a carport that would stand roughly between the garage and the house shown.
phew, honestly I can’t quite follow you. We currently have it open in our house and my husband would have preferred a sliding door
Then lead the way for me ;-)
So, I see two doors, and my experience says they will never be used equally loved, but each member will choose one as their favorite door and only use the other about ten times a year. One of these two doors slides into the wall, the other is constructed differently anyway – in view of the above insight, nothing is more obvious than optimizing one of the two doors for the taste of the swinging door faction, and for that, the door near the entrance and staircase to the seating area is predestined. Please stop presenting such significant details, like that this is exactly the sliding door your husband wanted, like a remote-controlled police car, in such a piecemeal way.
Okay, I’ve understood: your husband basically wants privacy against noticing your hard work in the kitchen; you’re supposed to be a servant spirit who preferably works behind another sliding door in the cupboard. In this case, I see the outdoor facilities fully paid from the chauvinist’s fund – Maestro, a fanfare!
Sliding doors are not exactly comfortable as everyday doors.
Sliding doors belong on the Enterprise :)
By the way, I thought it would be helpful if would join the discussion: I see similarities to his house, from which I fear similar consequences will apply price-wise.
