I see it similarly with the street; in most municipalities, the residents pay up to 80% of that, as far as I know. And the clause that the client must ensure that access with a truck is possible is actually in every contract.

As for the fence... you can report it to the insurance or simply replace it yourself for the neighbor, but that's nothing serious.

Honestly, the forwarding company is right. The road was obviously already a crumbly patchwork beforehand, and how a truck is supposed to cause such a tiny paint damage on a fence is also beyond me. Give it to the liability insurance, I reckon they will simply reject the claim. In my humble opinion, a neighbor wants to profit a bit here because he saw/heard heavy equipment and thinks he has found a sucker.

For example, it is stated in the construction description at Weberhaus. Access road, crane area, etc. are checked. Of course, it does not say that the company then assumes liability if the construction manager is asleep, but it is rather difficult to excuse yourself with "the street is not suitable at all." PS: today, four concrete mixers drove backwards up the slope through the single-lane (and by that I really mean single-lane) residential street. Whether something is suitable is always also a question of perspective.

I reported it to the insurance earlier, they were very accommodating and helpful. The site manager of course did an inspection with us and pointed it out, but I did not take on liability for the road or sign anything. The shipping company could have secured the spot in another way. We had already pointed out the cramped space conditions before signing, and there was even someone on site. At that time they said it was no problem. Well - now the insurance is taking care of it.
