Shortening Ikea FAKTUM drawers

Hello dear community

since I now have 2 Faktum base cabinets and have realized with horror that there are NO drawers exactly for these 2, I hope I find help here! It concerns the carcasses 30cm and 50cm.

Is it possible to make the drawers (40cm and 60cm) somehow 10cm shorter? I know that you probably need a saw for that, I just don’t know if that becomes impossible because of the plastic and metal parts. (since, for example, there are certain components at the corners that are absolutely necessary.

P.S.: If that is not possible, can assembled items be returned to Ikea?

Yes, that's true, but no suitable drawer fronts except for the complete front. I want a 30 cm cabinet with drawers. AND in addition to that (increased difficulty level) the whole thing in stainless steel design (meaning the front).

That's not correct

you can also equip the 3-drawer units with fronts!!!
but I don't understand the shortening, since the 30 and 50 base cabinets have the same depth unless you are using the wall cabinet as a base cabinet?

Sorry, I’ll only believe you when I get a link!! I’ve been searching for hours for a front for 30cm deep drawers. However, I don’t mean the 30x70cm fronts because I want to fit more of a 2-drawer unit into the cabinet!

You can mount 30 cm and 50 cm drawer fronts, but IKEA does not offer drawer fronts in these widths. They were still available in 50 cm a few years ago, never in 30 cm. You can only try to cut a large front to size accordingly. However, this will only work reasonably well with smooth fronts. Otherwise, the only alternative would be to design the kitchen in two colors and order fronts from companies like Beptum or Pokorny or... Of course, you could also buy all the fronts completely there and only get the carcasses from IKEA.

OK I understood that wrong, yes there is no 30 or 50 front as a store element.

I have shortened the fronts once (in Abstract white) and fitted them with aluminum edges, it fit there as other aluminum elements are present (photo in the gallery)
