Shading of roof windows in the living room - experiences / tips?

I would also much rather have a really deep sleep, but unfortunately I was not blessed with that. Even if euros gently fell on the window, were caught and automatically credited to my checking account, I still wouldn’t be able to sleep any better.

Great... Luckily, I sleep better ;) although I get scared during hail whether it will hold.. (here we have 2 places we’re currently renting, they only have interior blinds, which hardly provide any cooling. And I know theoretically that such glass can withstand normal hail)

Have you heard anything from Roto?

yes, we have the 75% version from Roto. Each on windows on the east and west side. They don’t reach the promised 75%, but it’s definitely better. The west side is combined with an interior blind because it’s a children’s room. That keeps the heat out. By the way, an electric drive is overkill for the UV blind. It’s like changing tires - on at Easter, off in October!

We have an interior roller blind and an exterior roller shutter on the Roto roof window on the south side

Everything open = Sauna with infusion
Interior roller blind closed = Sauna without infusion
Everything closed = Temperature approximately 1-2 degrees higher than in the other rooms.

We are currently living in a top floor apartment from around 2005 and even with the exterior roller shutters closed (where available) the attic window rooms heat up like crazy. I’m not exactly sure which element is the problem – roller shutter or window or both – but the heat radiation is very noticeable below the window.
For our house, we are paying a considerable extra cost for an extension from a 1.50 m knee wall to 2 full stories – mainly to completely avoid the need for dormer windows. Anyone who voluntarily puts up with something like that on the ground floor must be insane, sorry.

Same here with us. And with the insulated attic, you have an additional buffer zone.
